About The Artist - Gary Knox

Gary Knox a self-taught artist was born in Tuscaloosa Alabama and lived in the tri-state area a majority of his life. Gary was influenced by John Biggers, Jacob Lawrence, Ernie Barnes and Picasso. Currently working in the graphic sign industry, his personal passion is creating art that draws from his rich cultural history.

Mr. Knox is fascinated by the fluidity of geometric shapes in figurative and abstract art.  He shines an artistic creative light on everyday things in life (music, dance, human struggles and triumphs).

Mr. Knox a Fulton Street Art Fair Member has participated in numerous street fairs in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and New Jersey. He has also participated in auctions and group shows. Most of his work is in private collections and includes portraits and book illustrations.

Mr. Knox would like to continue creating meaningful art which would include painting murals.
